Case Studies – Todd Heller Recycling

Company:  Todd Heller Recycling, Northampton, PA

Description:  Recycling processor of $10 million worth of paper, aluminum, tin, plastic and glass collected throughout eastern Pennsylvania annually.

Problem:   The unprecedented use of five optical readers on a reclamation line – a first in the recycling industry – made it difficult to anticipate compressed air demand or determine if the plant’s existing compressors could handle the increased load. Insufficient air could jeopardize both the compressed air system as well as the entire plant operation.

Taylor Solution:  An air audit to determine exactly how much compressed air the optical readers would require. Average air requirements confirmed the capacity needed to meet both daily and peak demand.

Result:  Customer was able to avoid significant capital investment in a new compressed air system and had the accurate information necessary to make major production decisions.
